Outline of the Tenure-Track system

- Term: 5 years from the date of adoption
- Evaluation of tenure track teacher: The Tenure-Track Evaluation Committee will evaluate the research achievements, leadership, management skills, external funding acquisition results, research-education-guidance skills for undergraduate and graduate students, etc. by reviewing the status of achievement of the research plan, interim research reports, and final research reports submitted by tenure track teacher at the following times.
- The status of achievement of the research plan will be reviewed at 1, 2, and 4 years of employment.
- An interim evaluation will be made on the month which two years and six months have passed after employment.
- Tenure examinations will be conducted in the month not exceeding 4 years and 6 months after employment, and assistant professors who pass the examination are hired as tenured instructors or associate professors, and associate professors who pass the examination are hired as tenured professors. The tenure here is not for life but retirement age (currently 65 years old).
- Support allowances, managerial allowances, housing allowances, commuting allowances, special work allowances, overtime work allowances, and late-night work allowances shall be paid in accordance with Shizuoka University Teacher's Salary Regulations.
- Relocation travel expenses shall be paid separately in accordance with the regulations.
- At least 70% of the efforts related to research activities during the term of office are made.
- After arriving, one of the professors of the department will support you as a mentor.
- Research expenses will be subject to change depending on the future budget.
