MessageWood biomass is an important renewable natural resource, replacing with fossil resources, for making an environmental cycling system. Wood consists of mainly two polymers, polysaccharides (cellulose and hemicellulose) and polyphenol (lignin), which exist in complex manners in cell walls. Each chemical component has appropriate functions derived from its fine structure and excellent figure. Using techniques of synthetic organic chemistry and biochemistry, I discuss wood components at molecular level to find novel utilizations for wood biomass.
