Message In the face of problems about environmental pollution and energy with rising population, the need for biotechnology using microbes has been boosted for solving these problems in recent years. A variety of microbial species coexist in the natural environment and interact with each other directly or using chemical compounds, building an advanced network society. Understanding microbial flora and interaction will be important to make advantage of microbial unique functions. I try to unearth bacterial communication in microbial society and apply the knowledge to development of the biotechnology.
I will develop a mixture of basic microbiology and applied researches. My aim is to produce a novel biotechnology in an industrial city 'Hamamatsu' and develop human resources for biotechnology.
