MessageThe secondary metabolites, carotenoids, flavonoids and anthocyanin, are abundantly accumulated in citrus fruits, and they play important roles in regulating plant development and growth. In citrus, the accumulation of the secondary metabolites is not only the key indexes of fruits qualities, but also they are important bioactive compounds beneficial to human health. My research is focused on the accumulation mechanisms of carotenoids, flavonoids and anthocyanin in citrus fruits, and explores the key factors that regulate the biosynthesis of these secondary metabolites in citrus fruits.
